Our Story

Susie Pratt and Jenny Richards

After working for almost two decades in the nonprofit sector, we believe more than ever in its healing and transformative potential.  Whether providing direct service, working on systems level change, or providing essential financial resources, our clients have demonstrated time and again that innovative, caring work can make a critical difference in lives and communities.  We are proud to work alongside them as they make change in the world.

We founded Pratt Richards Group in 2007 in an effort to help nonprofit organizations and philanthropies think about their impact in practical, meaningful ways.  At the time, evaluation was a largely academic endeavor, but we were interested in something different – leveraging impact evaluation as a tool for organizational learning and growth.  Over time, we found that our tools and coaching were doing more than simply helping leaders evaluate their work; they were also fostering strategic clarity and focus to help them achieve their goals.

Our consulting, coaching and training services have helped nearly 100 organizations understand and conceive of their work in new ways, focus intentionally and pragmatically on their goals, and deepen their impact. Given how the world evolved during the pandemic and with a long-overdue focus on racial equity, the demand for guidance and facilitation that promotes organizational clarity, intentionality, and alignment between vision and strategy has never been stronger. As Pratt Richards Group moves into the future, we are redoubling our commitment to delivering customized, high quality strategy consulting for our clients – to help them not only navigate challenging and unpredictable organizational contexts, but thrive as they move forward to meet the moment.

“Pratt Richards Group has helped my organization learn from and develop impactful programs for the next generation of diverse leaders. From the first discovery call through the execution of evaluations, PRG helped us understand what we were doing well and how to plan for growth in the future. With all of our constituencies, whether it was young adults or academic administrators focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion, PRG provided voice and insight to our staff that was invaluable to our learning and design.”
